Toilet Twinning Appeal, April 2021

During the month of April, the Pastorate held an appeal to raise money for the charity Toilet Twinning. The aim of this charity is to provide safe, sanitary toilet facilities for communities in the developing world all over the planet. Did you know, for instance..

·         2 billion people don’t have anywhere safe to go to the toilet;

·         The lack of a loo makes women and girls a target for sexual attack as they go to the toilet in the open, late at night;

·         Almost 1,000 children die every day from preventable diseases linked to dirty water and unsafe toilets;

·         Every year, women and girls spend 97 billion hours finding a place to go.

For every £60 we raised, we could twin one of the toilets across the pastorate with a new facility and provide a safe place to go to the loo!

Over the month, we raised £375 – a great effort – thanks to all those who were able to contribute! This meant we could twin 6 toilets in the area and have enough left over to cover postage and make a further donation.
